A Christian Morning Routine That Starts Before Instagram

01

The first reach is worth noticing

Many of us open social media before we are fully awake. That does not make us shallow or faithless; it means our phones are designed to offer an effortless next action. Still, the first thing we take in often shapes the emotional weather of the day.

02

Build a three-part beginning

Try this: read a short passage, keep one phrase, and answer God with a simple prayer. The practice can take five minutes. A small structure protects you from the blank question of what to do next, especially on mornings when motivation is low.

03

Use the phone without surrendering the morning to it

Your phone can be the place where you read Scripture. The issue is not whether the Bible is on paper or a screen. The issue is whether the screen immediately carries you somewhere else. Protect the first few minutes by pausing the apps that compete most directly for them.

04

Let the routine serve love

The point is not to win a streak or become the kind of person with an impressive routine. It is to make room to receive God's presence before the day asks you to perform. If you miss it, begin again without drama. Faithfulness is often just the next return.
